Bruce Munro : The Field of Light

Visual artist Bruce Munro, introduces his large scale light installation ‘The Field of Light’, which is currently in St.Andrew Square, Edinburgh. The installation is made up of several rods, optical wire, halogen lights and blown glass to create long-stemmed, plant like constructions that change colours, creating a flowing and dream-like effect.

Munro was inspired by his journey through the Red Desert to Uluru in Australia. The energy and the look of the his surroundings captured Munro’s imagination, and was later expressed through his Field of Light concept, which the artist has been developing for 10 years.

The Field of Light is on at St.Andrew Square, until the 28th April, 2014.
