Paul Martin : When Men and Mountains Meet

When Men and Mountains Meet explores artist Paul Martin’s interest in the nature of nature, and how we see and interact with it. Martin’s work uses a range of organic materials, including beeswax, resins, powders, bitumen, magnesium oxide and ash alongside more traditional mediums.

Paul Martin studied art in the late 60s at Birmingham School of Art, a college dominated by Abstract Expressionism, before moving to the Royal Academy whose more traditional methods focused largely on life-drawing. Paul Martin has exhibited widely both at home and abroad, and has work in the collections of The Royal Academy, The British Museum and the BBC.

When Men and Mountains Meet is on at Dovecot Studios, until the 19th April 2014.
