Kenny Hunter : Kontrapunkt

Sculptor Kenny Hunter creates work out of many different materials such as plastic, wood, iron and bronze. Hunter is concerned with monumental sculpture and how important that concept might still be in today’s modern world.

For Kontrapunkt, the Generation exhibition at House For An Art Lover, Hunter took a series of old and new works and combined them to create a unified piece. Hunter invited the audience to think about his work and the many elements to it, and to draw their own conclusions from it.

Hunter was also in the middle of creating a new sculpture at House For An Art Lover’s facilities, which was for the Commonwealth in Glasgow. Elephant for Glasgow is a life sized sculpture of an Asian elephant and will be made out of melted down train parts, which had previously been used in the Commonwealth. The completed work will be on display in Bellahouston Park.

Kontrapunkt is now closed.
