The Lillie Gallery plays host to a “mini retrospective” of artist Lys Hansen’s work, featuring pieces from the 80s to the present day. Hansen aims to explore the human condition and the complex inter-relationships of people, and uses an expressive style to do so.

Hansen visited Berlin in 1985, and was struck by the impact of the divide created by the wall. A lot of her work touched upon this subject and continued to explore ideas of conflict and division.

Love + War + Paint is on at the Lillie Gallery, Milngavie, until the 24th September 2014.
