Neil Firth and Isla Holloway : Pier Arts Centre

The Pier Arts Centre in Stromness, Orkney, opened in 1979, with the aim to housing an important collection of British art that was donated by activist and philanthropist Margaret Gardiner. Since then, the centre has gone on to hold work from prominent Scottish contemporary artists such as Turner prize winner Martin Boyce, and Turner prize nominee Callum Innes, as well as showcasing the work of local artists.

Over the past few years, the centre has undergone some renovations in order to expand the current space, and provide greater facilities to the residents and visitors of Orkney.
