Scott McCracken : Paint Like You Mean It

Artist and coordinator of gallery and studios Interview Room 11, Scott McCracken introduces the first biennial art prize and exhibition, Paint Like You Mean It. Presented as an International open call, artists from all over the world were invited to submit a piece of work that related to the theme of painting. They could show anything from sculpture, to video work, to installation. A panel of four judges who have different backgrounds in contemporary art were invited to create a long-list of works from which a short-list was then selected. The prize is the chance to have a solo exhibition at the gallery in 2015.

Interview Room 11 is an artist run gallery and project space in the heart of Edinburgh founded in 2013. Their mission is to give voice to exciting new curatorial and artist initiatives through collaboration, support and access to the large arts venue. IR11 is facilitated through a gallery committee who are responsible for all aspects of the gallery, including exhibition programming and curation.

Paint Like You Mean It is on at Interview 11, Argyle House, Edinburgh until the 14th June 2014.
