Siobhan Carroll : Recreationally Surviving – The Great Outside

Siobhan Carroll introduces the first of this year’s Satellite Programme exhibitions at Collective Gallery, ‘Recreationally Surviving – The Great Outside’. Created by artist Catrin Jeans, this installation is a staged wilderness including snowshoes, campfire, and the backdrop of a hilltop covered in heather. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the set and pose for the classic tourist snap.

The Satellites Programme is an annual open submissions programme for emerging artists, which offers opportunities to be involved in a year long programme of exhibitions and events, and provides support for their artwork.

Recreationally Surviving – The Great Outside is on at the Collective Gallery, Edinburgh, until the 16th March, 2014.
